Research Pilots

Collaborative research, not proven solutions

Pilots are joint research projects where we test ideas together. We're learning what works, not implementing proven interventions. Participation is voluntary and non-commercial.

How pilots work

Each pilot is a shared research experiment where we learn collaboratively through interviews, small tests, and structured feedback.

1
Discovery conversation
We discuss your context, challenges, and research interests. No commitments required.
2
Pilot design
Together, we define research objectives, scope, participants, and how we'll measure results.
3
Joint learning
We review what we learn together and document themes for research continuity, including null results and surprises.

Important: Pilots are research experiments. We cannot guarantee positive outcomes. Results vary by context and may not generalize.

All conversations and data are confidential. No organization or individual will be identifiable in published research.

Example pilot research projects

These illustrate potential research designs. Actual design is always adapted to your specific context.

Knowledge work
Pilot: Recovery intervals in cognitively demanding work
Research question:

What do knowledge workers experience during intense mental work, and what helps them recover?

Participants:

Teams of 10-30 employees in office environments

Research goal:

Understand adoption patterns and perceived value of micro-breaks

Healthcare - Exploratory
Pilot: Understanding stress signals in healthcare teams
Research question:

How do healthcare teams currently recognize when stress is building? What early indicators matter most?

Participants:

Nurses, care workers, healthcare support staff

Research goal:

Understand which stress indicators healthcare workers find most relevant (not implementing monitoring)

Customer service
Pilot: Recovery after intense customer interactions
Research question:

What happens after emotionally demanding customer calls? How do people currently cope, and what helps?

Participants:

Call center employees, customer service reps, helpdesk staff

Research goal:

Understand which recovery approaches work for high-intensity customer work

Custom
Pilot: Your research question

Have a specific question about workplace stress or recovery? We welcome discussion about pilot designs tailored to your context.

Current status

We're in conversation with organizations about potential pilots. No completed pilot studies are available for publication yet.
